(Education) Chihlee Institute of Technology to Create Largest Virtual Campus in Taiwan
致理技術學院日前利用全球最有人氣的虛擬平台「第二人生」﹝Second Life﹞打造了全台最大的虛擬實境校園。
The Chihlee Institute of Technology recently used the popular virtual platform “Second Life” to create the largest virtual campus in Taiwan.
該學校多媒體設計系副教授吳雅仙表示，她從去年就開始一步步將真實校園環境模擬入這個平台。

The school’s Associate Professor of the Department of Multimedia Design, Wu Yaxian, said that she began modeling the real campus environment on this platform last year.
她表示利用這個平台學生們可以上網在虛擬校園中上課，學習各種課程並訓練語文能力。
She said that through this platform, students can go to this virtual campus for online classes for several courses, as well as to practice second language skills.
最重要的是可以簡單的和來自世界各國的學生交流，
The most important feature allows students to have exchanges with other students from all over the world.
藉以培養世界觀，對於提升學生競爭力很有幫助。
Professor Wu hopes to cultivate an international perspective which she feels is helpful for developing competitiveness.
